A THANKSGIVING POEM
Thanksgiving’s my favorite day of the Year,
With family and friends from both far and from near.
It’s a day for reflection, for cooking and actions,
To simply be thankful with no fancy distractions.
No shopping, no presents, no shipping and wrapping,
No gift lists and gift-angst and short tempers snapping.
Just turkey and gravy, cranberries and pies,
And plates piled so high, stomachs smaller than eyes !
Thanksgiving’s a symphony of tastes, smells and hugs,
And the next day’s removal of crumbs from the rugs.
My Thanksgiving Day bowl is wonderfully bountiful,
I count my family and friends, for which I’m most thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all !
Roger
